After you’ve had your fill of chiptunes and big-screen gaming at the TIFF Bell Light Box, head over to Fort York to check out a very cool interactive light installation courtesy of Aesthetec and the Dashing Collective. Aesthetec also has been participating with The Peripherals Initiative in an advisory capacity, so we’re super excited for them.

Here are the details on their project:

SMILE, short for Socially Motivated Immersive Light Environment, is an interactive light installation that will cover the ground of Toronto’s Fort York National Historic Site. Cubes of lights positioned in a hexagonal grid form the lightscape. Light patterns will change as the audience move small control nodes around the field, and evolve organically as they come together.
